223 of him the said Thomas Wells of, into or out of the said one undivided fourth Part of said Lands To have and to hold the said one undivided fourth Part of said Lands and other the Premises with the Appurtenances unto him the said George Wells his Heirs and Assigns for ever to his and their own proper Use and Behoof for ever In Witness whereof the Parties to these Presents have hereunto set their Hands and seals the Day and Year first above written Tho.s Wells (seal) Signed Sealed and delivered in Presence of us Henry Arnold On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus endorst Matthias Hammond to wit 18th Sep.r 1771 Then came the within named Thomas Wells son of Robert before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court & acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be his Act and Deed & the Land & Premises therein specified to be the Right & Estate of the within named George Wells Sen.r his Heirs & Assigns according to the true Intent and Meaning of the said Deed W.m Hayward Recorded the 18th Day of Sep.r 1771 X.d This Indenture made this ninth Day of August in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy one Between Richard Lewin of Ann Arundel County of the one Part and William Chew of Calvert County Gentleman of the other Part Witnesseth that the said Richard Lewin for and in Consideration of the Sum of three hundred and seventy Pounds Sterling Money to ^him in^ hand paid by the said William Chew at or before the Ensealing and Delivery of these Presents the Receipt is hereby acknowledged and every Part thereof doth acquit the said William Chew his Heirs Executors and Administrators he the said Richard Lewin hath granted bargain'd and sold aliened released and confirmed and by these Presents doth grant bargain and sell alien release and confirm unto him the said William Chew all that Part Piece or Parcel of Land being Part of Birkheads Lott containing & laid out for two hundred Acres of Land Beginning at a Mulberry Tree and running South fifteen Degrees East one hundred and ten Perches to a Spanish Oak thence West two hundred and ninety five Perches to a Stake thence North fifteen Degrees East seventy one Perches to a Poplar thence North forty seven Degrees East thirty three Perches to the Land of Hide Hoxton's thence North twenty five Degrees East seventeen Perches to a markt Chesnut thence North forty Perches to a markt Poplar thence with a straight Line to the first bounded Mulberry containing and laid out for two hundred acres more or less Together with all Profits Commodities Advantages Hereditaments and Ways Water Ways Water Courses and Appurtenances whatsoever to the said Part Piece or Parcel of Land, (Except fifty acres willd to my Sister Christaine by my Father, and fifty acres I sold unto John Chew, Deed bearing Date the twentieth Day October one thousand seven hundred and sixty nine) belonging or (in) |
