2 any Insufficiency or defect in the Words Expressions Clauses or Sentences of this our Commission and although every particular matter Strictly requisite be not herein Strictly expressed And We do hereby further for a Compensation Salary & Encouragement to the said John Moreton Jordan for the Punctual sincere and faithful Performance of the Powers and Authorities hereby granted him and in Consideration of the Pains Labour and Trouble he shall take in the due Execution thereof Authorize Direct and impower him to take receive and retain to and for his own use out of all such monies Tobacco or other Effects as shall be received on any of the Accounts afores.d arising from our Land Office or from our Manors and other Rents and Fines and all other our Property to be Collected by him the Nett Sum of Five Hundred Pounds Lawfull Money of Great Britain as a full recompence for and in Satisfaction and Discharge of all Commission Salary and other Fee and reward whatsoever for such his care and Pains in the Premises and all Services relating thereto such Salary to Commence and be payable from the time he shall Enter on the Execution of the said Office Provided always and it is the true Intent and Meaning of these Presents that Notwithstanding anything herein before Contained the said John Moreton Jordan shall from time to time and at all times Obey Execute and Perform such Rules and orders for his Conduct in the Premises as he shall receive from us our Lieutenant Gov.r or Board of Officers appointed by our Instructions bearing date the Twenty second day of March one Thousand seven hundred and Sixty six And we do hereby revoke Annul and make void all former and other Commissions Powers and Authorities touching the Premises by us or in our Name or under our Authority at any time heretofore granted to any other Person or Persons whatsoever and this our Commission and the Powers herein granted are to Continue during our Pleasure Given under our hand and Lesser Seal at Arms this fourteenth day of August in the Ninth Year of the Reign of our sovereign Lord King George the third and in the Nineteenth Year of our Dominion Annoq Domini one thousand seven hundred and sixty nine 9 Sides Counter Signed by his Lordships Command JB LS Hugh Hamersley Recorded 10.th May 1770 X.d To all People to whom these Presents shall come I John Glassford Merchant of Glasgow in that part of Great Britain called Scotland send greeting Whereas I the said John Glassford at this present time trading to the Province of Maryland am at present or hereafter during the course of the Business carried on for me in the Province of Maryland aforesaid may be seized in my demesne as of fee of and in certain Lands in the said Province or other of the British Dominions in North America and whereas certain Mortgages have been or may be taken for me and in my Name of certain Lands in the said Province of Maryland or other the British Dominions in North America as Securitys for the Payment of certain sums of Money or Tobacco due and owing unto me Now know ye that I the John Glassford do by these Presents constitute and empower Robert Peter of George Town in Frederick County in the said Province of Maryland Merchant to Lease or Demise the said Lands or any of them or any part of (them) |
