(501) Appurtenances to him the said Joseph Cowman his Heirs and Assigns to the only Proper use and Behoof of the said Joseph Cowman his Heirs and Assigns for ever and to or fo no other use Intent or Purpose whatsoever And the said William Brown and Joseph Gill do Severally for themselves their Heirs Executors and Administrators respectively Covenant and grant to and with the said Joseph Cowman his Heirs and Assigns that they the said William Brown and Joseph Gill respectively and their Respective Heirs the said Tract of Land Called Denton Holme from and against them respectively and their respective Heirs and all Persons Claiming by from or under them or any of them respectively to him the said Joseph Cowman his Heirs and Assigns forever shall and will Warrant and defend by these Presents In Witness whereof the Parties to these Presents have hereunto Interchangeably Set their Hands and Affixed their Seals the day and year first above Written Signed Sealed and Delivered Ja Keith Joseph Gill (Seal) in the Presence of John Campbel William Brown (Seal) On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Indorsed to wit Reced on the day and Year first within Written of and from the within Named Joseph Cowman the Sum of Six hundred Pounds Sterling being the Consideration within Mentioned to be by him Paid to me I say received by William Brown Witness Ja Reith John Campbell Reced on the day and Year first within Written of and from the within Named Joseph Cowman the Sum of five Shillings Sterling being the Consideration within Mentioned to be by him paid to me I say Received by Joseph Gill Witness Ja Reith John Campbell On the fifteenth Day of December 1768 Came before Me the Subscriber One of his Lordships Provincial Justices the within Named William Brown and Joseph Gill & Severally Acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to their respective Act and Deed and the land and Appurtenances therein Mentioned to be Conveyed to be the Right and Estate of the within Named Joseph Cowman his Heirs and Assigns According to the true Intent and Meaning of the same Deed and the Act of Assembly in such Case made and Provided Dan of S.t Tho.s Jenifer January 24.th 1769 Received of M.r Joseph Cowman the Sum of One Pound four Shillings Sterling Money being the Alienation fine on the within ^Land^ for use of Lord Baltimore by Virtue of a Commission from Daniel of S.t Thomas Jenifer Esq.r his said Lordship's Agent and receiver General J Brice On the fourteenth Day of February 1769 Came before me the Subscribers one of his Lordship's Justices of the Provincial Court Anne the wife of the within Named Joseph Gill & being by me Privately examined a part from and out of the hearing of her said Husband did release and did Declare that She did by this (her) |
