(137) John Gilliss his heirs and Assigns for Ever And at the same time Came Patience wife to the within Andrew and being privately Examined out of the hearing of her said husband acknowledged her Right of Dower to the within aforesaid Lands and Premisses to be the Right Title and Estate of him the within mentioned John Gilliss his heirs and assigns for Ever done before us NRuxton Gay, Benjamin Rogers September the 13.th 1766 Then Received of John Gilliss the sum of Thirty pound sterling Money it being the Consideration for the within Lands in full p me Witness NRuxton Gay Andrew Dorsey Received September 30.th 1766 of M.r John Gillis four Shillings Sterling for the use of Lord Baltimore being the Alienation Fine on the within Land and by Virtue of a Commission from Edward Lloyd Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General John Davidson sides Recorded 30.th September 1766 Ex.d here begins for Alienation List This Indenture made this Twenty third day of October in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Six Between John Rogers of Prince Georges County of the one part and Baker Brooke of Charles County of the other part Whereas for the Docking barring and extinguishing all Estates Tail and Reversions or remainders thereupon expectant or depending of and in the Lands and Appurtenances hereinafter mentioned the said John Rogers as Demandant did heretofore (at the request Costs and Charges of the aforesaid Baker Brooke) prosecute and sue forth out of his Lordships high Court of Chancery his said Lordships writ of Entry sur disseisin en le post against him the said Baker Brooke returnable and returned to the Provincial Court at Annapolis on the Third Tuesday of October Instant whereby the said John Rogers did demand against him the said Baker Brooke All Those Three several tracts or parcels of Land lying and being in Prince Georges County aforesaid following to wit The one called Black Walnutt Thickett containing Three hundred acres one other Tract called Content containing three hundred Acres and one other Tract called S.t Catherines Containing fifty Acres the Same lands lying in the freshes of Patuxent River in Prince Georges County aforesaid and which were heretofore devised by Richard Marsham of Prince Georges County to his Grandson Leonard Brooke with the appurtenances to which said writ the said Baker Brooke did appear in his proper person and vouch to warranty thereof the Common Vouchee of the same (Court) |
