                       On the back of the aforegoing Release was thus written Viz.t

       Received on the Day and Year first within written of and from the within
       named ^John^ Rearsby the sum of five shillings sterling being the consideration   £  5  ster
       within mentioned to be by him paid to me
       Witness  Rachal Darnall                        I say reced by Cha Carroll
                     Henry Carroll

       On the 16th Day of April 1761  Came before me the Subscriber one of his
       Lordships Provincial Justices the within named Charles Carroll John Rearsby
       and Thomas Johnson Junior and did acknowledge the within Instrument of
       Writing to be their several Act and Deed and the Lot of Ground and
       Premisses therein mentioned with the Appurtenances to be the right
       and Estate of the within named Charles Carroll his Heirs and Assigns
       for ever according to the true intent and meaning of the same Deed and
       the Act of Assembly in such case made and provided
10 sides

x.d  This Indenture made this first day of December in the Year
       of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Between Samuel
       M.cCubbin of Craven County in the Province of North Carolina Planter
       of the One Part and Thomas Norris of Ann Arundel County in the Province
       of Maryland Planter of the other Part  Witnesseth that the said Samuel  
       M.cCubbin for and in consideration of the sum of five Shillings Current Money
       to him in Hand paid at or before the Sealing and Delivery of these Presents
       the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and the said Thomas Norris his
       Executors and Administrators thereof acquitted and discharged hath granted
       bargained and Sold and by these Presents doth grant Bargain and sell unto
       him the said Thomas Norris his Executors Administrators and Assigns  All
       that Tract or Parcel of Land called Francis and Robert scituate lying and
       being in a Swamp called Herring Creek Swamp in Ann Arundel County
       aforesaid containing three hundred and fifty acres be the same More or
