       humbly prayeth your honnours to become Gracious Intercessors to his
       Majestie for his Pardon by representing to his Maj.ty how Great a
       measure of misfortune and how little of Malice there was in the
       first occasions (on his part) of that unhappy crime by which will
       appeare at once your honnours Great Seal towards the fulfilling
       the rule of the written Law and also your Christian and Charitable
       disposition in Mediateing for such whose misfortune (more then
       Malice) has made them Lyable to the Laws most heavy censures
       it is a favour which your Pet.rs hopes (grounded upon your
       honnours Generosity and Humanity) have promised him and
       the confirmation of it by your honnours will for ever engage
       your honnours pet.r to acknowledge the Greatness of such a
       Benefice                                 And to Pray &c  Geo Talbot

                      To the Right hon.ble his Maj.tys Justices of Oyer and
             Terminer now sitting at James Citty in his Maj.tys Dom.n
             of Virginia

                                  George Talbot of Cecill County in his
             Majesties Province of Maryland Humbly presenteth

       That in his late arraignm.t and tryall for felony haveing most
       readily submitted to your honnours jurisdiction and your
       supplicant thereupon found guilty but humbly conceiving there
       are some Points of Law from your honnours commission
       and from the Indictment and Process thereupon And Councill
       being assigned to your Supplicant to assist him in case such
       points of Law as he should offer should be accepted and allowed
       by your honnours
                                     He doth in all Humility humbly offer
       That your honnours have (by the commission of Oyer and
       Terminer directed to your honnours full power and authority to
       hear and determine all Treasons felonies &c within or without
       the bounds and Liberties of Virginia but that all such tryalls
       and determinations shall be according to the Laws and Customes
       of his Maj.tys Kingdom of England as by the said commission in
       most Plain and Express words doth and may appear and therefore
