       That such Counsellour or who shall be at the time of y.r death
       or absence residing within our said Province of Maryland
       And Nominated by Our Instructions to you before any other at
       that time residing there do preside in our Said Councill with
       such Power and Preheminences as may be necessary in those
       Circumstances for y.e due and orderly Carrying on the publick
       service in the Admcon of the Government as afd untill our
       Pleasure be further Known or untill your Arrivals as afd  And
       We do hereby declare ordaine and appoint y.t you the said John
       Seymour Shall and May hold Execute and Enjoy the office &
       Place of Captaine Generall and Governour in Chief in and over
       our said Province and Territory of Maryland together with all
       and singular the Powers and Authorities hereby granted
       unto you for and during our Will And Pleasure  In
       Wittnesse whereof we have Caused these our letters
       to be Made Pattents Wittnesse our Self at Westminster
       the twelfth day of February in the first year of our
       Reign
