581)) Elisha Sedgwick Ab.r Childs and Edw.d Gibbs who being Ellected tryed and sworne well & truely to try and true deliverance make between our sov.r Lord the king and the said James Finley prison.r at the barr and having heard the indictm.t afd and what the Evidences Could say in the pmises upon their oaths do say that the said James Finley is Guilty of manslaughter but have no Good or Chatles Lands or tenem.ts to their knowledge Afterwards Viz.t the same Day and yeare Last menconed the said James Finly was againe sett to the barr and it was Demanded of him what he said to Pay for himselfe why sentence of Death should not pass ag.t him according to Law whereupon the said James Finley prayed the benefitt of Clargey and it was Granted And thereupon M.r Edw.d Toppminster of the Gospile being appointed Cednary for this time tendred him the book and the said Ordnary sayth that he hath read thereupon it is Considred by the Justices here that the said James Finley be burnt in his left hand accoridng to y.e forme of y.e stat on y.t Case made & provided It |
