                   Know all men by these presents That we William Bladen
                   of the Porte of Annapolis Esq.r and William Dent Esq.r are
                   held and firmly bound unto his Sacred Maty King William
                   the third of England &c in the full sume of one Thousand
                   pounds Sterl money of England to be paid to his Said Maty
                   his heires and Successors  To the which payment well and
                   truly to be made we bind our Selves our heires Ex.rs &
                   Adm.rs firmly by these presents Sealed with our Seales &
                   Dated this 16.th day of Aprill in the 13.th Year of his Said
                   Matys Reigne &c Annoq Dni 1701

       The Condition of the above Obligation is such that whereas
       his Ex.cy Nathaniel Blakiston Esq.r Cap.t generall and Gov.r in Chief in
       and over this his Matys Province of Maryland upon the Death of
       Thomas Laurence Esq.r his Matys late Secretary of this Province hath
       by his Comission under his hand and Seale bearing Even Date herewith
       putt in Appointed and Impowered the above bound W.m Bladen
       To take and receive into his Posession and Care all the Records
       of the Said Province and in all things to Supply the Vacancy
       of the Said Place & Office of Secretary  Now the Condition of this
       Obligation is Such that if the Said Bladen do in all things according
       to the Obligation and Duty of his said Office well and truly Observe
       Pforme and Execute the Same either by himselfe or Such Clks
       as he will answer for without fraud or Covin and well and truly
       resigne and Deliver the Same Office and all Records and other paps
       Writings and Deeds w.ch shall be to him Delivered together with what
       shall be rec.d Entred or or Enrolled during his Continuance therein when
       by his Maty his heires or Succ.rs or Governo.r for the time being he the
       Said W Bladen shall be discharged therefrom That then this Obligation
       to be Void otherwise to be and remaine in full force and Virtue
