851 (830 To the worshipfull the Justices of S.t Maries County Court now sitting The humble petition of Phillip Clark one of the att.rs of this Court Most humbly sheweth unto yo.r worships That whereas y.r Pet.rs wife lyes dangerously ill Therefore most humbly prays yo.r worships that all causes your petition.r is concerned in may be continued till next Court and that yo.r petition.rs appearance may be Entred in all Causes where there is Warrants or where the p.rsons p.rsent desire it And as in Duty bound shall pray To his Ex.ncy Coll Francis Nicholson Esq Cap.t Gen.ll and Govern.r of his Ma.ts province of Maryland The Peticon of Christopher Vernon most humbly sheweth to yo.r Ex.ncy That your peticon.rs affairs requires his attendance constantly at home and your Peticon.r is in great hopes of your Ex.ncys Favour so Farr as that you would be pleased to admitt a Clerk in yo.r peticon.rs stead And your peticon.r does humbly presume to acquaint your Ex.ncy that one M.r John Thompson (who hath been a dweller in this county 17 years and always counted an honest & sensible person in any business) will with yo.r Ex.ncys leave act as Clerk of this County and Reside always in Towne untill such time as your Ex.ncy shall be pleased to displace him upon any acco.t whatsoever Your peticon.r therefore does humbly desire your Ex.ncy would be pleased to admitt the s.d Thompson (or whom your Ex.ncy shall think fitt) Clerk of Ann Arrundell County in the stead of your peticon.r And your Peticon.r is in Duty Bound shall Every pray Maryland fs &.ca Anno 1696/7 Account of bills of Exchange Returned into the hands of George Plater Collector & Receiver of Petuxant District by his Ex.ncy S.r Edm.d Andros Knight late Govern.r in this province for his ma.ts use as Followeth viz.t ℓℓ s d March 18.th To the hon.rble W.m Byrd Esq.r bills of Ex.a on Mess.rs Micajah Perry & Tho.s Lane M.rs in Lond.o 211 10 05 D.o To Thomas Banks Bills on Edw.d Gold Merch.t in Lond.o for 044 15 00 To the protest & Damages of s.d Banks bills at 20 P Cent is 009 00 00 D.o To John Mackgowns Bills upon M.r John Hill at Crutch Fryers in Lond.o for 043 14 07 To the protest and Damages of said Mackgowns bills at rate of 20 P Cent is 008 14 10 317 14 10 Anno 1696/7 And the s.d accountant Craves allowance as followeth viz.t ℓℓ s d March 18.th By Cash paid Maj.r Edw.d Dorsey P Order of his Ex.ncy y.e Govern.r & Council 200 00 00 as p said Order & Receipt on the back thereof appears D.o By Cash which is by like ord.r to be Remitted to Mess.rs Micajah Perry and Thomas Lane Merch.ts in London 100 00 00 July 3.d 97 P Cash pay'd the hon.rble S.r Thomas Laurence Barron.t P Ord.r of y.e Assembly as P his receipt dated this day apears 017 14 10 317 14 10 Petuxant May 25.th 1698 Then Came the within Named George Plater Esq.r and made oath upon the holy Evangelist before his Ex.ncy the Govern.r that the within is a true acco.t W Bladen Clk Council Annapolis July y.e 15.th 1698 Coll Hynson S.r By Ord.r from his Ex.ncy the Govern.r and Councill You will receive from Cap.t Juniper in Order to make up what you [illegible] upon the last Dividend |
