                To His Excell.cy the Governo.r and the Hon.ble Council

       Wheras an Act of Assembly Made at the Port of Annapolis
       the eighth Day of May Last past intituled an Act for the Devisson
       and Regulateing severall Countyes within this Province And Constituteing
       A County by the Name of Prince Georges County within the same Province
       And Whereas the said Act of Assembly for devideing of the said County did
       nominate and appoint M.r Robert Masson and M.r James Keech for
       S.t Maryes County M.r John Bayne and M.r James Biggers for Charles County
       M.r William Hutchinson and M.r Thomas Greenfeild for Prince Georges County
       In Obediance thereunto We John Bayne W.m Hutchinson and Thomas
       Greenfeild haveing Met this day for the devideing Prince Georges County from
       Charles County did Call before us Edward Batson Surveyo.r of Calvert County
       And Joseph Manning Surveyo.r of Charles County and Did Cause them to begin
       the said devision at two bounded Red Oakes and One Spanish Oake
       standing one A stoney Knowle Being marked with thirty two Notches Each
       And standing neere y.e head of Matewoman Mayne Branch & from thence
       Runing with A Lyne of duble markt trees south fifty nine degrees
       Easterly to three bounded white oakes each marked with thirty two
       notches And standing at the head of the northermost Mayne Branch of
       Swansons Creek being neere the Cock Road which doe esteme & Declare
       to be the devisicon.ll Lyne of the said County In Testimony Whereof Wee
       have hereunto subscribed our names this 14.th Day of Aprill 1696
By his Excellcy the Governo.r and Councill

Ordered y.t y.e within Returne be Referred to y.e house of Burgesses & this   Will Hutchision
board understanding that there is sume defence happend in the runing
out the devisionall Line it is alsoe Referred to be Inquired into & rectified            Tho Greenfeild
by y.e house that y.e same may be ascertained & set to Rights

       William Hutchisun and M.r Thomas Greenfeild for Prince Georges County

       In all humble and due Obedience thereunto wee John Bayne & James Bigger
       haveing mett this day to witt the 21.st of Aprill 1696 According to the appointed nine
       Lott and Noe other persons that were Concerned Meeting us for the Runing the
       dividing Lyne Betweene S.t Maryes & Charles County Wee the sd John Bayne &
       James Bigger did Call before us Edward Batson Surveyo.r of Calvert County and
       did Cause him to begin in the said divission at Foure bounded Red Oakes Each
       being Marked with 32 Notches standing upon A Gravelly small hill in the
       small forks at the very head of the Maine Branch of Birds Creek
       Issueing out of Wiccocomoco River in Potomack & from thence Runing North East
       And by North to foure bounded Chestnuts Marked with 32 Notches standing
       upon A Round Gravelly Knowle or hill Neere foure or five small branches
       which dispercesses themsleves out of the head of the Maine branch of Indien
