       I do hereby certify that a Comission is passing under the Great Seal of
       England, Constituteing Coll Francis Nicholson Cap.t Generall and
       Governor in Cheif of their Ma.ts Province and Territory of Maryland
       in America

                                                    The Kings most Excellent Ma.ty in Council

       His Ma.ty haveing been graciously pleased to constitute Col Francis Nicholson
       to be Their Ma.ts Captain Generall and Governor in Cheif of Maryland in
       America The said Col Nicholson this day at the Board tooke the Oath appointed
       by the Acts of Trade and Navigation to be taken by the respective Governors
       of their Ma.ts Plantations

       of Trade and Plantacons Constituteing & Appointing Francis Nicholson
       Esq.r Cap.t Gen.ll and Govern.r in Cheife of Maryland in America haveing been
       this day approved at the Board; His Ma.ty in Councill is thereupon pleased
       to Order as it is hereby Ordered that the R.t Hon.ble S.r Jn.o Trenchard Kn.ts
       Principall Secretary of State doe Cause the said Draught to be prepared for his
       Ma.ts Royall Signiture in Order to pass the Great Seale
