691) 701 Domini One Thousand six hundred Ninety & Two Endorsed on y.e Back as followeth viz.t September the Twenty fifth 1694 / Entred in his Lordships Land Office Lib B N.o 2 fol 68 & 69/ Recorded October y.e 13.th 1694 Henry Wriothesley Clk This Indenture made the Twelfth day of September in the year of our Lord one Thousand six hundred Ninety & three Betweene Ann Hopewell of Calvert County in the Province of Maryland Widow of the one part and Richard Hopewell sonn & heir of the said Ann of the other pte Witnesseth Whereas Hugh Hopewell late of the said County planter decd late husband of the said Ann & Father of the said Richard by his last WIll & Testament in writing bearing date the three & twentieth day of May Anno Dm 1687 amongst other things did give & bequeath to the said Ann his Wife all his Lands which he was then possessed off to be wholly hers & to be at her disposing as by the said Will may more at large appear And whereas amongst other lands the said Hugh Hopewell dyed seized and possessed of one parcell of Land lying on the south side of Patuxent River formerly purchased of Luke Gardiner Planter conteyning Two hundred Acres more or less As alsoe of and in one other Pcell of Land on the said Ann Hopewell for and in Consideracon aswell of the naturall love and affection w.ch she beareth to the said Richard Hopewell and to Agnes Eldest Daughter of the said Hugh and Ann now the wife of Willm Jessupp of the same County Calker of the settling the Inheritance of the said severall Tracts of Lands with the appurtenances & for divers other consideracons her thereunto moving Hath Given Granted Enfeoffed & Confirmed and by these p.rsents Doth Give Grante Enfeoff & Confirm unto the said Richard Hopewell and his heirs All those the aforesaid two severall Tracts or pcells of Land before menconed conteyning Two hundred Acres and One hundred & fifty Acres as afd according to their several Meetes & bounds in their sevrall pattents menconed & conteyned together with all the houses Orchards Gardens Lands & appurtences to the said severall Tracts of Land belonging To have & to hold the said sevrall Tracts or Pcells of Land with their & every or either of their appurtences to him the said Richard Hopewell his heirs & Assignes for ever to this end meaning intent construccon & purpose That he the said Richard Hopewell and his heirs shall from henceforth stand and be seized of the said severall Tracts or parcells of Land Plantacons and all & singuler other the above menconed p.rmisses & every pte & pcell thereof to the uses intents & purposes hereafter in these p.rsents limitted and declared and to none other use or purpose whatsoever (that is to say) is to the plantacon Tract or pcell of Land purchased of the said Luke Gardiner conteyning Two hundred Acres of Land with the houses orchard Gardens & appurts to the same belonging & whereon the said Ann now liveth & dwelleth to the use & behoofe of the said Ann Hopewell during the terme of her naturall life without Impeachment of Wast & from & after the decease of the said Ann Hopewell to the use & behoofe of the said Richard Hopewell & the heirs Males of his body lawfully to be begotten and for want of such Issue to the heirs Females of the body of the said Richard lawfully to be begotten and for want |
