667) 677 Wialliam R William and Mary by the Grace of God of England Scotland France & Ireland Defend.rs of the faith or on our Trusty and well beloved S.r Edward Andros Knight our Lieutenant and Governor Gen.ll of our Collony and dominion of Virginia in America Greeting Whereas by our Comission under our Great Seale of England beareing date the twentieth seventh day of June in the third yeare of our reigne Wee have thought Fitt to Constitute and appoint our trusty and well beloved Lionell Copley Esq.r our Cp.t Gen.ll & Governo.r in Cheife in and over our Province and Territory of Maryland in America and whereas by our Comission und.r our signett and signe Manuell Wee have appointed our Trust and well beloved Cap.t Francis Nicholson to be our Lieutenn.t Governo.r of our said Province & Territory Wee reposing Esptiall Trust and Confidence in yo.r Loyallty Comage and Circumspection doe by these p.rsents Constitute and appoint you the said S.r Edmund Andros upon the death of the said Cap.t Francis Nicholson and in the absence of the said Coll Lionell Copley to be Comand or in Cheife of our said Province and Territory of Maryland To have hold Exercise and Enjoy the office & place of Comander in Cheife of our said Province & Territory of Maryland for and dureing our pleasure with all the Rights priviledges profitts and advantages to y.e same belonging & app.rtaineing in Case of the Death of the said Cap.t Fr Nicholson & absence of y.e said Coll Lionell Copley as afde with full power and Authority to Execute and p.rforme all and singular the powers and Directions Contained in our said Commission to y.e said Lionel Copley & such Instructions as Wee have already as shall fo hereafter from time to time send to him And wee hereby Comand all and and singular our Officers Ministers & Loveing subjects to take Due Notice hereof and to give their ready obediance Accordingly Given at our Court at Kensington the 3.d day of March 1691/2 in y.e fourth yeare of their Maj.ties reigne By his Maj.tie Comand Recorded in the Jornall of Vera Copia the Council Book according to Ord.r Hen Denton Clr Councill Hen Denton Clk Nottingham Coucill By his Exency the Governo.r & Councill &c Octob.r 16.th 1694 Ordered that an Order of his Exency & Councill bearing date the sixth of May Anno 1693 relateing to the invalidateing the Oath of one Susanna Dryer wife to Samuel Dryer of Ann Arundell County be totally and for ever sett aside disannulled and made void soe rendered incapable of haveing her Oath taken in any Court or before any Justice within this Province signed p order Henry Denton Clk Counc |
