676 (666 Exc.a for ℓ 15 Maryland Februa 4.th 1692/3 At Twenty days after sight of this my Third Bill of Exc.a my First nor second not payd pay or cause to be payd unto M.r Garrett Vansweringen or his order the sume of Copia Fifteen pounds st.rling being for Disbursments upon the shipp Margrett acc.t at time make good paym.t & place it to sd acc.t w.thout further advice from S.t yo.r loving Brother in Law George Luke To M.r W.m Stewart M.rchant in London signed in blanck G A Sweringen By this publick Instrument of protest Be it known and manifest unto all people that on the Tenth day of the Month of August Anno Dm 1693 in the Fifth year of the Reigne of William and Mary King & Queene over England &c att the request of John Taylor of London Merchant I Porten Paul Notary and Tabellion Publick legally admitted and sworne dwelling in London speakeing to William Stewart alsoe Merchant of this Citty I demanded of him if he would pay the Originall Bills of Exchange of Fifteen pounds sterling (the Copie whereof is above written) He answered he would not pay the said Bill for want of Effects, Whereupon I the said Notary (at the request aforesaid) have protested as by these pnts I doe protest aswell against George Luke Drawer of the said Bill as all others therein any ways oblidged for Change & Rechange all Costs Damages and Interest suffered and to be suffered for want of payment of the said Bill Thus done and protested in London in pnce of Henry Smith and Thomas Jones Witnesses Quod attestor Regatus Record.d 22.o Marcij 1693/4 P. Paul Nots Pubs M.r Taylors prot ag.t William Cop.a Ver P Henry Wriothesley Cler prov.ll Cur Stewart for ℓ 15 p Geo Luke to Gerard Vansweringen To Garritt Vansweringen Maryland fs I William Price of S.t Maryes County planter for a valueable consideracon to me in hand payd by John Llewellin of the same County doe hereby Assign sell and sett over unto the said Llewellin all my Right Title and Interest of in and to a certain Marke by me heretofore made use of and Recorded or intended to be Recorded for me in the Secretaryes Office of this Province with all my stock of Hoggs Sows Barrows Shoats and Piggs under the same (viz.t) Cropp and three Slitts on the Right Ear and Cropp and Overkeele on the left To have and to hold the said Marke and p.rmisses to him the said John Llewellin his heires and Assignes as his and their own proper marke &c as before for ever (Four Young Shoates useing M.r Thomas Guyther's plantacon whose mark to be forthwith altered and by Three fifth parts of five Barrows of the same marke all future Casualtyes being to be allowed excepted) Witness my hand the 12.th day of April 1694 his Witness William WP Price Tho Grunwin mark Henry Wriothesley April 12.th 1694 M.r Wriothesley Record 12.o April 1694 Please to Record the within Assignm.t and the marke therein menconed as the proper marke of John Llewellin April 16.th 1694 Then Came William Price of S.t Maryes County Planter and desired that the Marke of his Cattell and Hoggs might be Recorded the same being as followeth (viz.t) swallow Forke on the Left Ear Cropp and Under keele on the Right Ear Record 16.o April 1694 p Henry Wriothesley Clk |
