494 (484 To these Indentures Interchangeably have put their Hands & Seales the Day and yeare first above written John Nuthall (sealed The Marke of Barbara Nuthall (sealed B N Memorandum that this Day to witt the fifteenth Day of November 1688 before Us Nicholas Sewall & Clement Hill Esq.rs Two of his L.dspps Justices of the Provin.ll Court Came the within named John Nuthall & Barbara his wife in their pper persons And the said John did acknowledge the within written to be his Act and Deed and the said Barbara being by us alone & secretly Examined according to the forme of a certaine Act of Assembly in that case provided did acknowledge the land in the within written deed to be the Right of her the within named Elizabeth Baker and which she the said Elizabeth hath of the Guift of them the said John & Barbara And the said John and Barbara for them & their Heires have remised & made quit clayme thereof to the said Elizabeth & her Heires for ever And further they the said John & Barbara have Graunted for them & their Heires the said land within Menconed unto her the said Elizabeth & her Heires against the said John & Barbara & their Heires they will warrant for ever And for this Acknowledgment remise quit clayme & agreem.t the said Elizabeth hath given them the said John & Barbara sixteene Hundred Pounds of Tobacco Sealed & Delivered by Taken before us Nicholas Sewall y.e within Named John Nuthall & Barbara Recorded y.e 11.th December Clem.t Hill his wife in the p.rsence 1688 of P Deyzer Tho Grunwin This Writeing Indented made the Five and Twentieth Day of September Anno Domini 1688 And in the fourth year of the Reigne of Our Sovereign Lord King James the second of England &c Betweene Edward Carleton & Dudley Carleton of London Merchants of the one pt and Thomas Davis of London Gen.t of the other part Whereas the said Edward Carleton & Dudley Carleton doe Imploy Severall Psons as Agents or facto.rs for them at Maryland in the pts beyond the seas And there are severall debts due or oweing by Contracts or agreements made with Severall Psons there which probably have been or may be Received & gott in by severall Psons haveing Authority by or from the said Edward Carleton & Dudley Carleton And ought to be Accompted for to them And whereas the said Thomas Divis intendeth with all Speed to Saile to Maryland aforesaid intending for some time to Continue there Now these Presents Wittness that the said Edward Carleton & Dudley Carleton Reposeing much Confidence in the Said Thomas Davis doe Assigne Authorize depute & Constitute him the said Thomas Davis their true & Lawfull Attorney |
