425) 435 This Indenture made y.e third daÿ of October Ann Dm one thousand six hundred Eightÿ five and in the first ÿeare of the Reigne of James the second King of England Between Marÿ Elling Spinster of the one partÿ and Joseph Jones Now bound for Marÿland in the shipp William and Thomas on the other Partÿ Witnesseth That the said Marÿ Elling Doth thereby Covenant promise and grant to and with the said Joseph Jones his Executors and assignes from the day of the date hereof until her first and Next arrival in Mariland and after for and during the term of foure ÿears to serve in such service and Imploÿement as he the saÿd Joseph Jones or his assignes shall there Imploÿ her according to the Custom of the countrÿ in the Like Kind In Consideration Whereof the said Joseph Jones doth herby covenant and grant to and with the said Marÿ Elling to paÿ for her passing and to find and allowe her Meat drink apparrel and Lodging with other Nessaryes during the said terme and at the End of the said term to paÿ unto the said Mary Elling double apparell and all other Necessaries and things according to the Custome of the said Countrÿ and the said Mary Elling doth affirm her selfe to be twentÿ one ÿeares of age on the daÿ of the date of these presents In Witnesse Whereof the parties above Mentioned to these Indentures have Enterchangeablÿ set their hands and seals the day and ÿeare above written sealed and delivered in the marke of the presence of H+ (sealed) John Jones Joseph Jones John Johnson Publick Notarÿ sworne in London Know all men by these presents that wee John Walls of old England Marriner and Thomas Pemberton of Somersett County in the province of Maryland Marchant are held & firmelÿ bound unto John Addison of S.t Maryes County Gent In the full sume of fouer hundred pounds of good & Law full Moneÿ of England to be paid to the said John Addison or to his Certaine attoneÿ his Ex.rx ad.rs or assignes to the wich payement well & truely to be Made wee bind us and Either of us our & Either of ours heires Ex.rx and adm.rs firmely by these p.rsents sealed with our seales and Dated the 30.th daÿ of March Annoq.r Dm 1683 The Condition of these is such that Whereas one James Milles of the province of Marÿland Gent hath Comenced an accon against the said John Walls in the provinciall Court of the said province for two hundred pounds of good & Lawfull Moneÿ of England Debt and Whereas also the said James Milles hath Issued out of the said Court a writt of Ne Excat provinciam againt the said John Walls That hee depart Nott this province till hee give securitÿ or answer the said James The said accon of debt and Whereas also the said John Addison together with the said Thomas Pemberton at the speciall instance and request of the said John Walls are held and firmely bound into Two hundred pounds of good & Lawfull Moneÿ of England that the said John Walls shall answer the aforesaid accon |
