SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED BY THE GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That a new Article of the Annotated
Code of Maryland designated "Commercial Law" be and it is
hereby enacted, and that Article 95B —Uniform Commercial
Code, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement
Volume and 1974 Supplement), in its entirety, be and it
is hereby recodified and renumbered as Titles 1 through
10 of said Article — Commercial Law and repealed and
re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:

COMMERCIAL LAW ARTICLE

TITLE 1. GENERAL PROVISIONS.

SUBTITLE 1. SHORT TITLE, CONSTRUCTION, APPLICATION AND
SUBJECT MATTER OF THE ARTICLE.

1-101. Short title.

[This] TITLES 1 THROUGH 10 OF THIS article shall be
known and may be cited as MARYLAND Uniform Commercial
Code.

1—102. Purposes; rules of construction; variation by
agreement.

(1) [This] TITLES 1 THROUGH 10 OF THIS article
shall be liberally construed and applied to promote its
underlying purposes and policies.

(2) Underlying purposes and policies of TITLES 1
THROUGH 10 OF this article are
