LAWS OF MARYLAND

[Ch. 75

A State Board of Registration for Foresters is
created, whose duty it is to administer the provisions of
this subheading. The Board shall consist of five
professional foresters who shall be appointed by the
Governor of Maryland with the advice and consent of the
Senate by August 1, 1972, from among ten (10) nominees
recommended by the Maryland Chapter, Society of American
Foresters, and who shall possess the qualifications set
forth under [§ 409D] §302 of this subheading. The five
(5) members of the initial Board shall be appointed for
terms of one (1), two (2), three (3), four (4) and five
(5) years respectively. On the expiration of the term of
any member of the Board, the Governor shall appoint, in
the manner hereinbefore provided, for a term of five (5)
years, a registered professional forester from among
three (3) nominees recommended by the Maryland Chapter,
Society of American Foresters, and having the
qualifications set forth in § [[409D]] 302 of this
subheading. Each member shall hold office until the
expiration of the term for which the member is appointed
or until a successor has been duly appointed and
qualified.

(3) Any person who, on July 1, 1972, shall be
engaged in the active practice of professional forestry
as defined in [§ 409B] § 300 of this subheading, shall be
eligible for registration as a registered professional
forester, provided that he files an application for
registration with the Board by July 1, 1973, and he shall
not be subject to the other requirements of this section
necessary for registration.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
