683
ANY PERSON WHO VIOLATES ANY PROVISION OF §§
18-201(A) OR 18-301(A) OF THIS TITLE IS GUILTY OF A
MISDEMEANOR AND ON CONVICTION IS SUBJECT TO A FINE OF NOT
LESS THAN $1,000 AND NOT MORE THAN $5,000.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language

27, §160.
Classification of the offense as a
"misdemeanor" is added for purposes of
clarity.
Although minimum penalties generally have been
deleted in this article — see e.g., §11—706 —
it is retained here in light of the
differences between §18—201 (a) and (b) and
between §18—301(a) and (b); in this regard,
see revisor's notes to these sections.
However, retention of the minimum penalty is
in no way intended to limit the applicability
of Art. 27, §643, which permits imposition of
a lesser penalty of the same character.
