administer the Retirement system and submit reports
thereon; to provide the Retirement Hearing Board with the
authority to administer oaths to witnesses.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL FOR MONTGOMERY
COUNTY, MARYLAND, that -
SECTION I. Section 37 (c), title "Full-time
employees entering service after August 15, 1965", 37
(d), title "Part—time employees entering service after
August 15, 1965", 37 (j), title "Membership Groups and
Eligibility", 37 (1), title Requirements of Membership",
and 37(m), title "Entrance age for employees entering
the County Service during the period of August 15, 1965
through March 31, 1974", are hereby amended to read as
follows:
(c) Full—time employees entering service after
August 15, 1965. Any full-time paid employee who enters
the service of the County or participating agency after
August 15, 1965 shall become a member as a condition of
employment if the following requirements are met:
(1) the employee waives all rights of
membership under any other retirement system supported in
whole or in part by the State of Maryland or any
political subdivision thereof, including Montgomery
County;
(2) the employee fully meets the medical
standards established by the Chief Administrative Officer
after taking a physical examination administered by the
Medical Examiner.
(d) Part—time employees entering service after
August 15, 1965. A qualified part—time employee of the
County or participating agency may become a member, on an
individual option basis, if the following requirements
are met:
(1) the employee waives all rights of
membership under any other retirement system supported in
whole or in part by the State of Maryland or any
political subdivision thereof, including Montgomery
County:
(2) the employee fully meets the medical
standards established by the Chief Administrative Officer
after taking a physical examination administered by the
Medical Examiner.
(3) the employee makes application for
membership within five work days after beginning work
with membership retroactive to the first day of work.
