PROVISION OF AN ORDER OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OR AN
AGREEMENT OF A PARTY RELATING TO UNIT PRICING UNDER TITLE
14, SUBTITLE 1 OF THIS ARTICLE.
REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section
presently appears as Art. 83, §22(d).
The only changes are in style.
Subsection (b) of this section is new language
derived without substantive change from the
last clause of Art. 83, §21E(f)(3). Its
addition here is necessitated by
§13—301(10)(ii) which makes these specific
unit pricing violations "unfair or deceptive
trade practices" and otherwise subject to the
general provisions of this title. In this
regard, see revisor's note to §§ 13-301 and
14-106.
SUBTITLE 5. SHORT TITLE.
13-501. SHORT TITLE.
THIS TITLE MAY BE CITED AS THE MARYLAND CONSUMER
PROTECTION ACT.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language added
to facilitate references to this title as
distinguished from the miscellaneous "consumer
protection" provisions continued in Title 14
of this article.
GENERAL REVISOR'S NOTE
In revising this title, the Commission to Revise the
Annotated Code concluded that Art. 83, §26 is unnecessary
and repetitious in light of the general severability
provision of Art. 1, §23. Accordingly, Art. 83, §26 is
proposed for repeal.
Article 83, §21E, which relates to unit pricing of
consumer commodities, has been transferred to Title 14,
Subtitle 1 of this article; in this regard, see general
revisor's note to that subtitle.
Article 83, §§ 21A, 21B, 21G, 21-1 and 21L, have
been transferred to Title 14, Subtitle 11 of this
article; in this regard, see general revisor's note to
that subtitle.
