COUNTY LOCAL LAWS

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on the 76th
day following the date on which it becomes law.

AN ACT to amend Chapter 41, title "Recreation and
Recreation Facilities", of the Montgomery County Code
1972, by repealing in its entirety Section 2 of Chapter
31 of the Laws of Montgomery County 1969, and by adding a
new Article III, title "Recreation Areas and Advisory
Boards", to follow immediately after Article II thereof,
to provide for the designation of recreation areas by the
County Executive within the Recreation District; to
establish a County—wide Recreation Board; to provide for
the appointment, membership, composition, terms, election
of officers, adoption of by—laws, meetings and duties of
the Recreation Board; to provide for the creation of
Recreation Area Advisory Boards; to provide for the
appointment, membership, composition and terms,
chairmenship, meeting and duties of such boards; and to
provide for other matters generally relating thereto.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL FOR MONTGOMERY
COUNTY, MARYLAND, that

SECTION 1. Section 2 of Chapter 31 of the Laws of
Montgomery County 1969 is repealed in its entirety.

SECTION 2. A new Article III, title "Recreation
Areas and Advisory Boards", is hereby added to Chapter
41, title "Recreation and Recreation Facilities", of the
Montgomery County Code 1972, to follow immediately after
Article II thereof, to read as follows:

ARTICLE III

RECREATION AREAS AND ADVISORY BOARDS

41-20. RECREATION AREAS - CREATION; PURPOSE.

THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED TO
DESIGNATE, AND CHANGE FROM TIME TO TIME, BY EXECUTIVE
ORDER, THE GEOGRAPHICAL BOUNDARIES OF SUCH RECREATION
AREAS WITHIN THE RECREATION DISTRICT AS THE COUNTY
EXECUTIVE DETERMINES ARE NECESSARY TO DISTINGUISH PARTS
OF THE COUNTY WITH COMMON RECREATIONAL NEEDS. THE
