(2) The request and all endorsements must
clearly demonstrate that the extension is in the best
interest of the County.
(3) If deemed desirable by the County
Personnel Board, the request for extension must be
accompanied by a certification of the Medical Examiner
that the member is medically acceptable for continuance
in the position and also by a certification of the
Personnel Director that all established requirements have
been met.
(4) Request for an extension must be
submitted by the member at least sixty days prior to
mandatory retirement date.
The same request and endorsement procedures shall be
followed by a member of a participating agency requesting
an extension and shall be subject to all requirements
established by the County Personnel Board.
(i) Administrative retirement on or after normal
retirement date. The County Executive or Chief
Administrative Officer may retire without cause any
member under the supervision of the County Executive or
Chief Administrative Officer who is eligible for normal
retirement if the action is justified and demonstratively
in the best interest of the County. The decision of the
County Executive or the Chief Administrative Officer may
be appealed to the Personnel Board. Appeal procedures
provided in the Personnel Regulations shall be followed
in making and handling appeals. If the employee does not
appeal, such retirement shall not become effective
without approval by the County Personnel Board. Such
retirement shall be considered a separation from the
County service in good standing and without prejudice.
Any member who is retired May 1, 1970, or thereafter,
shall receive a pension commencing immediately and the
provisions of Section 33-45(c) shall be applicable in
determining the amount of pension.
(j) Administrative retirement on or after elective
early retirement date. The County Executive or the Chief
Administrative Officer may retire without cause any
member under the supervision of the County Executive or
the Chief Administrative Officer who is eligible for
elective early retirement if the action is justified and
demonstratively in the best interest of the County. The
decision of the County Executive or the Chief
Administrative Officer may be appealed to the County
Personnel Board. Appeal procedures provided in the
Personnel Regulations shall be followed in making and
