COUNTY LOCAL LAWS

COURSES OF ANY ACCREDITED COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY.)

(2)         DRILLS - TWENTY (20) POINTS MAXIMUM ONE
(1) POINT PER DRILL (MINIMUM 2 HOUR DRILL).

(3)         SLEEP-IN OR STAND-BY - TWENTY (20)
POINTS MAXIMUM. SLEEP-IN ONE (1) POINT EACH FULL NIGHT.
STAND-BY - ONE (1) POINT EACH. A STAND-BY IS DEFINED AS
AN ON-DUTY ACTIVITY OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OR RESCUE
SQUAD, LASTING FOR FOUR (4) HOURS, NOT FALLING UNDER ONE
OF THE OTHER CATEGORIES.

(4)         ELECTED OR APPOINTED POSITION -
TWENTY-FIVE (25) POINTS MAXIMUM. COMPLETION OF A
ONE-YEAR TERM IN AN ELECTED OR APPOINTED POSITION.
CREDITS MAY NOT BE EARNED CONCURRENTLY UNDER PART F 5)
FOR ATTENDING MEETINGS WITHIN HOWARD COUNTY.

(5)         ATTENDANCE AT MEETINGS - TWENTY (20)
POINTS MAXIMUM.        ATTENDANCE AT ANY OFFICIAL MEETINGS OF
THE DEPARTMENT - ONE (1) POINT PER MEETING.

(6)         PARTICIPATION IN DEPARTMENT RESPONSES -
[[FIFTEEN (15) POINTS FOR RESPONDING ON THE MINIMUM
NUMBER OF CALLS (FIRE, RESCUE, AMBULANCE.]] 1/3 POINT
PER CALL FOR A MAXIMUM OF 35 POINTS FOR RESPONDING TO
CALLS (FIRE, RESCUE, AMBULANCE).

(7)     MILITARY SERVICE - A MEMBER WHOSE
VOLUNTARY FIRE SERVICE IS INTERRUPTED BY FULL-TIME
EXTENDED OBLIGATORY MILITARY SERVICE OR BY A SINGLE
VOLUNTARY ENLISTMENT NOT TO EXCEED FOUR (4) YEARS IN THE
ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES SHALL BE CONSIDERED ON
MILITARY LEAVE. DURING SUCH PERIOD OF MILITARY LEAVE,
THE VOLUNTEER SHALL RECEIVE ACTIVE VOLUNTEER SERVICE
CREDIT OF FIFTY (50) POINTS FOR EACH. FIFTY (50) POINTS
PER YEAR SHALL BE CREDITED TO AN ACTIVE VOLUNTEER MEMBER
WHO IS PERMANENTLY DISABLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY AS
VOLUNTEER FIREMEN IN HOWARD COUNTY.

SECTION 2. Severability
