COUNTY LOCAL LAWS

ARRANGEMENT THAT IS APPROVED BY THE ADMINISTRATIVE
AUTHORITY.

717.2  SIZE

FLOOR DRAINS SHALL BE OF THE SIZE TO SERVE
EFFICIENTLY THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH IT IS INTENDED. TRAPS
SHALL MEASURE NOT LESS THAN THREE INCHES (3"), PROVIDED
THEY MAY BE REDUCED TO A MINIMUM OF TWO INCHES (2") WHEN
SPECIFIC APPROVAL IS GIVEN BY THE ADMINISTRATIVE
AUTHORITY.

717.3  PERMITTED FLOOR DRAINS

WHEN APPROVED BY THE ADMINISTRATIVE AUTHORITY,
FLOOR DRAINS MAY BE INSTALLED IN BASEMENTS, UTILITY
ROOMS, COMMERCIAL KITCHENS, FOOD PROCESSING
ESTABLISHMENTS, PUBLIC REST ROOMS, AND IN OTHER LOCATIONS
WHERE THEY MAY HELP PROMOTE THE CLEANLINESS OF THE
BUILDING.

717.4 ACCESSIBILITY

FLOOR DRAINS SHALL BE SO CONSTRUCTED THAT THEY
CAN BE READILY CLEANED.

717.5 BELL TRAPS

BELL TRAPS ARE PROHIBITED.

(19)   SECTION 804 PLASTIC PIPE SUPPORTS

804.1  PLASTIC PIPE SUPPORTS

HANGERS AND STRAPS SHALL NOT COMPRESS,
DISTORT, CUT, OR UPGRADE THE PIPING AND SHALL ALLOW FREE
MOVEMENT OF THE PIPE. PIPES SHALL BE SUPPORTED AT
INTERVALS OF NOT MORE THAN FOUR FEET (4') AT END OF
BRANCHES, AND AT CHANGE OF DIRECTION OR ELEVATION.
SUPPORTS SHALL ALLOW FREE MOVEMENT. VERTICAL PIPING
SHALL BE MAINTAINED IN STRAIGHT ALIGNMENT. TRAP ARMS IN
EXCESS OF THREE FEET (3') SHALL BE SUPPORTED AS CLOSE AS
POSSIBLE TO THE TRAP.

804.2      UNDERGROUND INSTALLATION

THE TRENCH BOTTOM SHALL BE SMOOTH AND OF
UNIFORM GRADE, WITH EITHER UNDISTURBED GROUND OR A LAYER
OF SELECTED AND COMPACTED BACKFILL SO THAT NO SETTLEMENT
SHALL BE ENCOUNTERED. PIPE MUST BEAR ON THIS MATERIAL
THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF ITS BURIAL.
