COUNTY LOCAL LAWS

(C) ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE PROVISIONS OF THIS

SECTION SHALL BE GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR, AND, UPON

CONVICTION THEREOF, SHALL BE FINED NOT MORE THAN ONE

HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00), OR IMPRISONED NOT MORE THAN
THIRTY (30) DAYS, OR BOTH FINED AND IMPRISONED.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That if any
provision of this Ordinance or the application thereof to
any person or circumstance is held invalid for any
reason, such invalidity shall not affect the other
provisions or any other application of this Ordinance
which can be given effect without the invalid provisions
or application, and to this end, all the provisions of
this Ordinance are hereby declared to be severable.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency ordinance
and necessary for the immediate preservation of the
public peace, health, safety, welfare and property, and
being passed by the affirmative vote of five (5) members
of the County Council the same shall take effect from the
date it becomes law.

AN ORDINANCE to repeal and re—enact, with
amendments, Sections 1-261(11), 1-262(a) and 1-263(a)(2)
and (c) of the Anne Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and
Supplements), Title 1, "Administration", Subtitle 2,
"Personnel", Article V, "Appointed and Elected Officials'
Retirement Plan", (as added by Bill No. 96—73), to
clarify the definition of the term "Service"; to change
the date upon which current employees shall be covered
retroactively; to designate the date upon which members
of the Employees' Retirement Plan and the Police and Fire
Service Retirement Plan may receive credited past
service; to designate the date upon which members of the
Employees' Retirement System of the State of Maryland may
receive credited past service; to provide for the
transfer of employee's contribution between retirement
plans; and matters generally related thereto.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND, That Sections 1-261(11),
1-262 (a) and 1-263(a)(2) and (c) of the Anne Arundel
County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements), Title 1,
"Administration", Subtitle 2, "Personnel", Article V,
"Appointed and Elected Officials' Retirement Plan", (as
added by Bill No. 96—73) be, and they are hereby repealed
