ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY

AN ORDINANCE to add new Section 4-100 to the Anne
Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements), Title
4, "County Council", Subtitle 1, "Generally", to follow
immediately after Section 3—208 thereof, to adopt the
recommendations of the Salary Standard Commission to
increase the salary of County Councilmen subsequent to
the general election of November, 1974; and matters
generally related thereto.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND, That Section 4-100 be, and
it is hereby added to the Anne Arundel County Code (1967
Edition and Supplements), Title 4, "County Council",
Subtitle 1, "Generally", to follow immediately after
Section 3—208 thereof, and to read as follows:

SECTION 4-100.

THE RECOMMENDATIONS SET FORTH IN THE 1973 SALARY
STANDARD COMMISSION OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY RESOLUTION
DATED NOVEMBER 19, 1973 BE, AND THE SAME IS HEREBY
ADOPTED. FROM AND AFTER THE TIME THE MEMBERS OF THE ANNE
ARUNDEL COUNTY COUNCIL QUALIFY FOR THEIR OFFICE
SUBSEQUENT TO THE GENERAL ELECTION OF NOVEMBER 1974 EACH
MEMBER OF THE COUNTY COUNCIL, EXCEPT THE CHAIRMAN, SHALL
RECEIVE A SALARY OF FIVE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS
($5,500.00) PER ANNUM. FROM AND AFTER THE TIME THE
MEMBERS OF THE ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY COUNCIL QUALIFY FOR
THEIR OFFICE SUBSEQUENT TO THE GENERAL ELECTION OF
NOVEMBER 1974, THE CHAIRMAN OF THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF ANNE
ARUNDEL COUNTY SHALL RECEIVE AN ANNUAL SALARY OF SIX
THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($6,500,00) PER ANNUM. NO
MEMBER OF THE COUNTY COUNCIL SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ANY
OTHER ALLOWANCE OF ANY KIND, EXCEPT THAT, SUBJECT TO
APPROVAL IN THE ANNUAL BUDGET, A COUNCIL MEMBER MAY BE
REIMBURSED FOR HIS ACTUAL NECESSARY EXPENSES INCURRED IN
REPRESENTING THE COUNTY BEYOND THE GEOGRAPHICAL
BOUNDARIES THEREOF.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Ordinance shall take effect forty—five (45) days from the
date it becomes law.
