Annexation Resolution
Resolution No. 75-1
RESOLUTION: To provide for the enlarging of the
corporate boundaries of the Town of
Morningside to include 26.78046 acres owned
by the Board of Education of Prince
George's County, and 2.30637 acres owned by
the Town of Morningside, a total of
29.14683 acres of land.
WHEREAS, heretofore by Resolution the Mayor and
Council of Morningside have proposed to enlarge the
corporate boundaries of the Town of Morningside so as to
include an area encompassing two tracts of land which
consist of 26.78046 acres owned by the Board of Education
of Prince George's County, and 2.30637 acres owned by the
Town of Morningside, a total of 29.14683 acres of land,
and
WHEREAS, thereafter a public notice of said
Resolution was published not fewer than four times at not
less than weekly intervals in "The Enquirer—Gazette," a
newspaper of general circulation in the Town of
Morningside, and the area to be annexed, the said notice
specifying that a public hearing on said Resolution would
be held in the Morningside Town Hall at 8:00 P.M. on
September 12, 1974; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Morningside have
fully considered and deliberated the matters presented at
said public hearing and have determined that said
Resolution should be adopted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND
COUNCIL OF MORNINGSIDE, MARYLAND,
That the following Resolution adding a new section
to the Charter of the Town of Morningside, said new
section to be known as Section 52-2C, to follow
immediately after Section 52—2B, thereof to provide for
the enlarging of the corporate boundaries of the Town of
Morningside, be and the same is hereby adopted to become
