MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

North 89° 44' 51" East 603.04 feet, to
the place of beginning, containing
11,8223 acres of land.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the date of the adoption
of this Resolution is the 13th day of March, 1974, and
that the Amendment to the Charter of the City of Laurel,
hereby proposed by this enactment, shall be and become
effective on the 15th day of May, 1974, unless a proper
petition for referendum hereon shall be posted in the
City Office in accordance with law; and a copy of the
title of this Resolution shall be published in a
newspaper of general circulation in the City of Laurel
not less than four times at weekly intervals before the
22nd day of February, 1974.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as soon as the Charter
Amendment hereby enacted shall become effective, either
as herein provided or following a referendum, the Mayor
of the City of Laurel shall promptly register both the
original boundaries and the new boundaries with the clerk
or similar official thereof with the Director of the Hall
of Records, with the Clerk of the Court of the Circuit
Court for Prince George's County, and with the Director
of the Department of Legislative Reference. Said
Registration shall include a copy of the Resolution
adopted by the City of Laurel, which shall be in such
form and subject to such registration requirements as are
contained in Article 23A, Sections 17 and 17A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume).

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that as soon as the
Charter Amendment hereby enacted shall become effective,
either as herein provided or following a referendum, the
Mayor of the City of Laurel shall send separately, by
registered mail, to the Secretary of State of Maryland,
to the Department of Legislative References, (5 copies),
the Hall of Records Commission and State Library, the
following information concerning the Charter Amendment:
(1) The complete text of this Resolution; (2) The date of
the referendum or election, if any, held with respect
thereto; (3) The number of votes cast for and against the
question contained in the Charter Amendment, whether by
the Council of the City of Laurel or any referendum; and
(4) The effective date of the Charter Amendment.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the
City of Laurel be and he is specifically enjoined and
instructed to carry out the provisions as hereinbefore
stated as evidence of compliance herewith, the said Mayor
