shall comply with all the applicable provisions of
Sections 13 to 17 inclusive, of Article 23A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1973 Replacement Volume.)
Section 5. That as soon as the Charter Amendment
hereby made shall become effective, whether as provided
herein or following a referendum, the Mayor shall send
separately, by registered mail to the Secretary of State
of Maryland, and to the Department of Legislative
Reference of Maryland, a complete certified copy of the
text of this Resolution, the date of the referendum, if
any, is held, a certificate showing the number of
councilmen voting for or against it, and a report of the
votes cast for or against the amendment hereby enacted at
any referendum thereon and the effective date of the
Charter Amendment.
This Charter Amendment enacted by the aforegoing
Resolution becomes effective, on this 31 day of December
1974.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GREENBELT ADOPTED PURSUANT TO
THE AUTHORITY OF ARTICLE 11E OF THE CONSTITUTION OF
MARYLAND AND SECTION 13 OF ARTICLE 23A OF THE ANNOTATED
CODE OF MARYLAND (1957 EDITION AS AMENDED) TITLE,
"CORPORATION--MUNICIPAL", SUBTITLE, "HOME RULE", TO AMEND
THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF GREENBELT, MARYLAND, SAID
CHARTER BEING SUBTITLE 40 OF ARTICLE 17 OF THE CODE OF
PUBLIC LOCAL LAWS OF MARYLAND (1963 EDITION AS AMENDED)
AND CONTAINING IN WHOLE OR IN PART THE CHARTER OF THE
CITY OF GREENBELT, BY AMENDING SECTION 40, TITLE
"PURCHASES" TO PROVIDE FOR INCREASING THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT
ABOVE WHICH EXPENDITURES FOR SUPPLIES, MATERIALS,
EQUIPMENT, CITY IMPROVEMENTS, OR CONTRACTUAL SERVICES -
EXCEPT PROFESSIONAL SERVICES - SHALL BE MADE ON WRITTEN
CONTRACT WHICH SHALL BE AWARDED BY THE COUNCIL ON THE
BASIS OF COMPETITIVE BIDS EXCEPT WHEN OTHERWISE PROVIDED,
FROM ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS TO TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED
DOLLARS.
Section 1 BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDAINED by the
Council of the City of Greenbelt, Maryland that the
Charter of The City of Greenbelt, said Charter being
Subtitle 40 of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local
