MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

have been published and shall declare the Charter
Amendment hereby enacted to be effective by affixing his
signature hereto in the space provided on the effective
date hereof.

SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that as soon
as the Charter Amendment hereby enacted shall become
effective, either as herein provided or following
referendum, the Mayor of Easton shall send separately by
registered mail, to the Secretary of State of Maryland,
the Department of Legislative Reference of Maryland, and
to the Director of the Hall of Records, a clear certified
copy of the complete text of this Resolution and the
following information concerning the Charter Amendment or
amendments: the date of the referendum election, if any,
the number of votes cast for and against the Charter
Amendment or amendments, whether in the legislative body
or in a referendum and the effective date of the Charter
Amendment or amendments.

The Charter Amendment enacted by the foregoing
Resolution became effective this eleventh day of March,
1975.

RESOLUTION NO. 4 309

ANNEXATION RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, A petition for the annexation of land
adjacent and contiguous to part of the westerly corporate
boundary of the Town of Easton has been filed by Clinton
D. Taylor, pursuant to Section 19, Article 23A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1973 Repl. Vol.); and,

WHEREAS, The President of the Council of the Town of
Easton has caused to be made a verification of the
signature and has ascertained that the person signing the
petition is the owner of at least 25 percent of the
assessed valuation of the real property in the area
sought to be annexed and has caused to be verified that
the land sought to be annexed is contiguous and adjacent
to the existing corporate area and that no persons reside
in the area to be annexed;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF EASTON, That the corporate boundaries of the Town
of Easton be and hereby are proposed to be enlarged by
the annexation of the area; beginning at a point on the
