both fine and costs are paid] COURT OF LAW IN THE STATE
OF MARYLAND, HE SHALL BE FINED NOT MORE THAN $500 OR
COMMITTED TO JAIL FOR NOT MORE THAN SIXTY (60) DAYS, OR
BOTH.

SECTION 2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this
Resolution shall become effective on the 27th day of
March, 1974.

CHARTER AMENDMENT
NO. 73-74-26

RESOLUTION of The Commissioners of Cambridge adopted
pursuant to the authority of Article 11E of the
Constitution of Maryland and Section 13 of Article 23A of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1973 Replacement Volume)
entitled "Corporation—Municipal" to amend the Charter of
The Commissioners of Cambridge by repealing and
reenacting, with amendments. Section 37 entitled "Same;
duties of judges of election". Subsection (b) entitled
"Election offenses", of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Dorchester County (1961 Edition), said Code being Article
10 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland, entitled
"Dorchester County", subtitled "Cambridge" by removing
certain obsolete language pertaining to the trial
magistrate.

SECTION 1. BE IT RESOLVED by The Commissioners of
Cambridge that the Charter of said municipal corporation
be, and the same is hereby amended by repealing and
reenacting, with amendments, Subsection (b) entitled
"Election offenses" of Section 37 entitled "Same; duties,
election offenses" to read as follows:

37. Same; duties, election offenses.

(b) Election offenses. Any person who bribes,
coerces or intimidates any voter or attempts to bribe,
coerce or intimidate any voters at any election held
under the direction of the Supervisor of Elections and
the Commissioners of Cambridge, shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor, and on conviction thereof before any [trial
magistrate, or in the Circuit Court for Dorchester
County, shall be fined for each and every offense not
less than one hundred dollars ($100) and costs, and shall
be confined in the county jail until both fine and costs
are paid or be confined in the county jail for a period
of six months or be both fined and imprisoned as herein
