either as provided herein or following a referendum, the
Mayor shall send separately by registered mail, to the
Secretary of State of Maryland and to the Department of
Legislative Reference of Maryland a clear certified copy
of this Resolution showing the number of Aldermen voting
for and against it and a report on the votes cast for or
against the amendment hereby enacted at any referendum
thereon and the date of such referendum.
The above Charter Amendment was enacted by the
foregoing Resolution which was passed at a regular
meeting of the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of
Annapolis, April 8, 1974, the Mayor and eight (0)
Aldermen voting in the affirmative, no aldermen voting in
the negative, no aldermen abstaining, no aldermen absent,
and the said Resolution becomes effective in accordance
with law on the 28th day May, 1974.
RESOLUTION
OF THE
MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF ANNAPOLIS
TO REPEAL AND RE-ENACT
SECTION 4 - OF THE CITY CHARTER
Resolution of the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of
Annapolis, adopted pursuant to the authority of Article
11E of the Constitution of the State of Maryland and
Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1973
Replacement Volume), titled "Corporations—Municipal", to
repeal and re-enact Section 4 of the Charter of the City
of Annapolis for the purpose of exempting the City of
Annapolis from the provisions of Section 19(q) of
Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland or (1973
Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement) which relates to
providing that in Anne Arundel County certain areas
affected by annexation of another area may vote on the
proposition under certain circumstances, and all matters
relating generally.
WHEREAS, the General Assembly of Maryland enacted
Senate Bill 822, Chapter 860 of the Laws of Maryland,
1974; and
WHEREAS, Governor Marvin Mandel approved and signed
the Act on May 31, 1974 and the same shall take effect on
July 1, 1974; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of
Annapolis believes that the Act is a public local law
relating to the government or affairs of the City of
