EXECUTIVE ORDERS
(a) The Secretary of Personnel, ex officio,
Chairman.
(b) The Secretary of Budget and Fiscal
Planning, ex officio.
(c) The President of the Maryland Classified
Employees Association, ex officio.
(d) The President of the Maryland Public
Employees Council 67, American Federation
of State, County and Municipal Employees,
ex officio.
(e) One person to be appointed from the
general public.
3. The Secretary of Personnel, the State
Treasurer, the State Comptroller, the Board of
Trustees, and the Attorney General shall take
whatever actions may be appropriate and
necessary to implement this Executive Order to
the end that the benefits of the Deferred
Compensation Plan may be made available to
State employees at the earliest practicable
time.
4. No deductions under the Plan shall be made
from the wages of State employees until the
Board of Trustees certifies that
(a) Favorable rulings have been received
from the Internal Revenue Service and
the United States Department of Health,
Education and Welfare upon requests
filed with those agencies.
(b) A favorable response has been received
from the Securities and Exchange
Commission and from the State Securities
Commissioner with respect to the Plan,
or, in the alternative, an opinion of
the Attorney General and of counsel
acceptable to the Board of Trustees has
been received that the Plan is not in
violation of federal or State securities
laws.
