House Bill No. 1313 — Effect of Planning and Zoning
Actions; Somerset County
AN ACT concerning
Zoning and Planning
FOR the purpose of declaring legally constituted for a
certain period any planning and zoning commission,
board of appeals, or historic commission in certain
counties; continuing in full force and effect for a
certain period in certain counties certain
comprehensive plans, zoning ordinances and district
maps, subdivision regulations and historic zoning
ordinances; generally relating to planning and
zoning in certain counties; and making this Act an
emergency measure.
May 15, 1975.
Honorable John Hanson Briscoe
Speaker of the House of Delegates
State House
Annapolis, Maryland
Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill
1313.
This bill declares legally constituted for a certain
period of time any planning and zoning commission, board
of appeals, or historic commission in certain counties.
Under the provisions of this bill, the legal constitution
of these bodies is extended until October 31, 1975.
Senate Bill 833, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on April 22, 1975, accomplishes
the same purpose as House Bill 1313 by extending the
legal existence of these bodies until December 31, 1975.
The purpose of House Bill 1313 is thus achieved by the
enactment and signing of Senate Bill 833.
