House Bill No. 51 — Public Use of Community
Correction Centers

AN ACT concerning

Community Correction Centers — Public Use

FOR the purpose of authorizing the Commissioner of
Correction to provide for public uses of community
correction centers under certain conditions, and
clarifying language.

May 15, 1975.

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 51.

This bill authorizes the Commissioner of Correction
to provide for public uses of community correction
centers.

Senate Bill 839, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on April 22, 1975, is a broader
bill which accomplishes the same purpose as House Bill
51. The lead sponsor of House Bill 51 has recognized
this, and has requested that I veto House Bill 51.

For this reason, I have vetoed House Bill 51.
