A House Joint Resolution concerning

Employee Retirement Income Plans (Pension Plans)

FOR the purpose of requesting that the Governor appoint a
Commission to investigate and study Employee
Retirement Income Plans, and (Public Law 93-406) the
new federal legislation concerning this matter, and
to report its findings and recommendations.

WHEREAS, Many persons are retiring from their jobs
without an adequate retirement income; and

WHEREAS, The United States Congress has enacted
legislation in 1974 for the protection of employee
retirement income plans; and

WHEREAS, There is a need to study the new Federal
Legislation, to see if it is working and covering all
employees requiring pension protection, or if legislation
on a State basis, is necessary; now, therefore, be it
