52.

The members of the Council shall receive per diem
compensation as provided in the State budget for each day
actually engaged in the discharge of their official
duties as well as reimbursement for [all necessary and
proper] expenses IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STANDARD TRAVEL
REGULATIONS. The Council shall operate under the
administrative direction of the Commissioner of Labor.
The director of apprenticeship and training shall act as
secretary.

SECTION 6. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
106(d) of Article 100 — Work, Labor and Employment, of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume
and 1974 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and
re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 100 — Work, Labor and Employment

106.

(d) Appointed members of the Council shall serve
terms of three years except as hereinafter provided and
shall be eligible for reappointment. Of the members
first appointed, the two selected from the general public
shall serve terms of two years each; one management
member and one labor member shall serve a term of one
year each; and the other two shall serve a term of three
years each. Any vacancies occurring in any term shall
be filled by the Governor's appointment with the advice
of the Secretary of Licensing and Regulation for the
remainder of the term. The members shall be compensated
on a per diem basis as set forth in the annual State
budget from time to time, and they shall be allowed
reasonable expenses for travel IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
STANDARD TRAVEL REGULATIONS.

SECTION 7. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Sections
3 and 71(a) of Article 101 — Workmen's Compensation, of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume
and 1974 Supplement) be and they are hereby repealed and
re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 101 — Workmen's Compensation

(a) The chairman of the Workmen's Compensation
Commission of Maryland shall receive a salary of
twenty—eight thousand dollars ($28,000) per annum and
each of the other members of the Commission shall receive
