1926, as amended. The Commission is designated as the
representative of the State of Maryland, and for these
purposes the Commission [is authorized and empowered to]
MAY enter into [such] commitments and agreements with
the [said] National Capital Planning Commission as may in
the discretion of the Commission seem necessary. The
Commission [is] further [empowered to] MAY act in
conjunction and cooperation with other representatives or
officers of the United States Government or of the
District of Columbia or of the States of Maryland,
including the Maryland State Planning Commission and the
Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, or of the State
of Virginia or of Montgomery or Prince George's Counties
or of any district, municipality, or other local or
district subdivision within [said] THESE counties or
within [said] THESE states.
[65.] 7-110.
The making of the general plan, including its parts,
amendments, extensions, or additions, the protection of
and the carrying out of the plan, and the exercise of all
planning, platting, zoning, subdivision control, and all
other powers granted in this [subheading] TITLE to the
Commission or to the County Council of Montgomery County
or the County Commissioners of Prince George's County
shall be with the purposes of guiding and accomplishing a
coordinated, comprehensive, adjusted, and systematic
development of the Regional District, the coordination
and adjustment of [said] THIS development with public
and private development of other parts of the State of
Maryland and of the District of Columbia, and the
protection and promotion of the health, safety, morals,
comfort, and welfare of the [present and future]
inhabitants of the Regional District.
[66.] 7-111.
(a) Membership and powers. The members of the
Commission appointed by the governing bodies of each
county are designated the Montgomery County Planning
Board and the Prince George's County Planning Board,
respectively. They [shall be] ARE responsible for [such]
planning,, platting, and zoning functions fas are]
primarily local in scope, as distinguished from the
regional planning functions of the Commission relating to
or affecting the Regional District as a planning unit.
[Such] THE local functions exclusively within the
jurisdiction of the respective planning boards [shall]
include, but ARE [shall] not [be] limited to, the
administration of subdivision regulations, the
preparation and adoption of recommendations to the
District Council with respect to zoning map amendments,
and the assignment of street names and house numbers
