provided in this [subtitle] ARTICLE. The Commission [is
authorized to] MAY assume all damages incident to any
flood control works or improvements which it (may be
found] FINDS necessary to construct, except damages to
land and easements of railroads or other public
utilities. The Commission also [has the power to] MAY
agree to furnish, without cost to the United States or
any agency thereof, all lands and easements which may be
needed in the construction of any flood control works or
improvements, and [has the power to] IT MAY agree to take
over, operate, and maintain [such] THE works when
constructed.
(b) Other uses of lands acquired for flood
control. The Commission [has the right to] MAY use for
park purposes the lands acquired for flood control and
navigation projects as provided in Section 83-118 of the
1963 Edition of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County, as [that section may be] amended [or
re—numbered from time to time].
SUBTITLE 2. PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY RECREATION
[43A.] 5-201.
[(a)] The Prince George's County Planning Board of
the Maryland—National Capital Park and Planning
Commission (hereinafter referred to as the "Board")
[shall be] IS responsible for providing an adequate and
balanced program of recreation to serve the varied needs
and interests of the several age groups among the
residents of Prince George's County, and to coordinate
[such] THIS program with the Commission's Park functions.

[(b)] The Board [shall have the power to] MAY
initiate, adopt, conduct, direct, or cause to be
conducted or directed under its supervision a
comprehensive program of recreation which may include the
operation and direction of games, sports, arts and
crafts, hobby shops, music, drama, dancing, nursery play,
and [such] WHATEVER other physical, social, mental and
creative opportunities for leisure—time participation as
the Board [shall deem] DEEMS advisable to offer in major
recreation centers, playfields, athletic fields,
playgrounds, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, swimming
pools, golf courses, community centers and social centers
in publicly or privately owned lands and buildings or
other facilities made available for [such] THESE
purposes, or over which the Board has sole or joint
jurisdiction; or on or in any land or buildings or other
facilities of any municipality or political subdivision
