HEARINGS ON THE APPOINTMENT NOT LESS THAN TEN DAYS AND
NOT MORE THAN 20 DAYS AFTER SUBMISSION. IF THE COUNCIL
FAILS TO ACT TO CONFIRM OR REJECT THE APPOINTMENT WITHIN
30 DAYS OF THE SUBMISSION TO THE COUNCIL BY THE COUNTY
EXECUTIVE, THE APPOINTMENT STANDS APPROVED. A VOTE OF A
MAJORITY OF THE FULL COUNTY COUNCIL IS REQUIRED TO
CONFIRM OR REJECT AN APPOINTMENT. All members of the
Commission to be appointed from Montgomery County shall
be appointed by the County Council subject to the
approval of the County Executive, as IS provided [herein]
IN THIS TITLE. Upon appointment, the name of the
appointee shall be delivered within three days to the
County Executive who within [thirty] 30 days thereafter
shall either approve or disapprove the appointment. In
the event that the County Executive disapproves an
appointment, he shall return it to the Council with the
reasons for his disapproval stated in writing. The
Council may, by the affirmative vote of five of its
members, appoint a member of the Commission over the
disapproval of the County Executive. Any appointment
which has not been disapproved by the County Executive in
the manner provided [herein shall be] IN THIS TITLE IS
deemed to have been confirmed. In Montgomery County, the
County Council shall [be required to] select its
respective appointments or reappointments from a list of
applicants. [Such] THIS list shall be open to the public
at all times and shall be completed at least three weeks
prior to actual appointment or reappointments. In the
event that the County Council does not appoint any
individual whose name appears on [such] THE list or in
the event that no name appears on [such] THE list, the
County Council shall provide for the preparation of a
second list and shall follow the procedure applicable to
the first [such] list. All [such] appointments or
reappointments shall be subject to Section [85—13A] 2—114
OF THIS ARTICLE.

[3.] 2-102.

The term of office of each member of the Commission
[shall be for] IS four years. Appointments shall be made
on or before June 15 of the year in which any appointment
is to be made, and terms of office shall begin as of that
date and if any appointment is not made as provided in
[Sec. 2] §2—102 a vacancy exists which shall be filled as
provided in this [subtitle] ARTICLE for the filling of
vacancies on the Commission. The members of the
Commission in office immediately prior to [June 1, 1959]
JULY 1, 1975 shall remain in office under the provision
of this [subtitle] ARTICLE for the remainder of the terms
[to] FOR which [respectively] THEY WERE appointed,
[Those terms shall expire on the following dates: two
from each county on June 14, 1959; one from each county
on June 14, 1960; one from each county on June 14, 1961;
