LAWS OF MARYLAND

[Ch. 853

[[(D) A MEMBER MAY NOT RECEIVE COMPENSATION FOR
SERVING ON THE BOARD. EACH MEMBER OF THE BOARD SHALL
RECEIVE A PER DIES ALLOWANCE, AS PROVIDED IN THE BUDGET,
FOR THE TIME SPENT IN THE PERFORMANCE OF HIS OFFICIAL
DUTIES. EACH BERBER SHALL BE REIMBURSED FOR ALL PROPER
TRAVELLING AND INCIDENTAL EXPENSES IN CARRYING OUT THE
PROVISIONS OF THIS SUBTITLE.]]

(D) EACH MEMBER SHALL RECEIVE REIMBURSEMENT FOR
EXPENSES ACTUALLY AND NECESSARILY INCURRED IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE STATE JOINT TRAVEL REGULATIONS AND AS PROVIDED
IN THE BUDGET.

(B)    THE [[BOARDS]] BOARD SHALL MEET AT LEAST ONCE
A YEAR AT A PLACE AND TIME DETERMINED BY THE MEMBERS. A
BOARD MAY ALSO MEET AT WHATEVER OTHER TIMES AS IT
DETERMINES.

(F)    THE [[BOARDS]] BOARD SHALL REORGANIZE AND
ELECT A CHAIRMAN.

(G)    THREE MEMBERS OF A BOARD CONSTITUTE A QUORUM
TO DO BUSINESS.

(H) A PERSON MAY NOT BE APPOINTED TO SERVE MORE
THAN TWO CONSECUTIVE TERMS.

(I) THE GOVERNOR MAY REMOVE ANY MEMBER OF THE
BOARD FOR MISCONDUCT, INCOMPETENCE OR NEGLECT OF DUTY
AFTER GIVING THE MEMBER A WRITTEN STATEMENT OF THE
CHARGES AND AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE HEARD.

(J) ANY VACANCY IN THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE BOARD
OCCURRING OTHERWISE THAN BY EXPIRATION OF TERM SHALL BE
FILLED BY THE GOVERNOR FOR THE UNEXPIRED TERM.

THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE [[BOARDS ARE]] BOARD IS
AS FOLLOWS:

(A) TO ADMINISTER, COORDINATE, AND ENFORCE THE
PROVISIONS OF THIS SUBTITLE, ESTABLISH FEES, EVALUATE THE
QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANTS, SUPERVISE THE EXAMINATION
OF APPLICATIONS [[,AND ISSUE SUBPOENAS, EXAMINE
WITNESSES, AND ADMINISTER OATHS, AND INVESTIGATE PERSONS
ENGAGING IN PRACTICES WHICH VIOLATE THE PROVISIONS OF
THIS SUBTITLE]];

(B) TO CONDUCT HEARINGS AND KEEP RECORDS AND
MINUTES AS NECESSARY TO AN ORDERLY DISPATCH OF BUSINESS;

(C)    TO ADOPT RESPONSIBLE RULES AND REGULATIONS
[[INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO REGULATIONS WHICH
