provisions of the law generally relating to county
school board meetings, officers, and expenses, and
rewriting those provisions so as to add clarity and
organization to the law; deleting counties whose
boards receive compensation provided elsewhere in
the Article; repealing an uncodified law whose
provisions are included generally without
substantive change in the rewritten material; and
generally relating to county boards of education and
to the Calvert County Board of Education.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF

MARYLAND, That Section 37 of Article 77 - Public

Education, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969

Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed:

Article 77 — Public Education

[37.

(a) The county boards of education shall hold an
annual meeting each year on the second Tuesday in July,
or as near as possible thereto in July, except that in
Montgomery County such annual meeting shall be held on or
before the tenth day of January in each year, and in
Prince George's County the annual meeting shall be held
as provided in § 36C (e) of this article. At this
meeting the board shall elect one of its members to serve
as president and one to serve as vice—president. Other
