Section 175—1 through 175—4, inclusive, to
be under the new subtitle "Retirement for Volunteer
Firemen and Rescue Squadsmen"
Article 5 — Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1963 Edition and 1970 Supplement, as amended)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 13B be and it is hereby added
to Article 25 — County Commissioners, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1973 Replacement Volume and 1974
Supplement) to read as follows:

13B.
IN CALVERT COUNTY, THE [[COUNTY COMMISSIONERS]] FIRE
AND RESCUE COMMISSION SHALL ADMINISTER THE RETIREMENT
PROGRAM FOR VOLUNTEER FIREMEN AND RESCUE SQUADSMEN, AS
PROVIDED FOR IN SECTIONS 175-1 THROUGH 175-4 OF THE CODE
OF PUBLIC LAWS OF CALVERT COUNTY.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new
Sections 175—1 through 175—4, inclusive, to be under the
new subtitle "Retirement for Volunteer Firemen and Rescue
Squadsmen" be and they are hereby added to the Public
Local Laws of Calvert County being Article 5 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1963 Edition and 1970
Supplement, as amended) to read as follows:
Article 5
RETIREMENT FOR VOLUNTEER FIREMEN AND RESCUE SQUADSMEN
175-1.
THERE IS ESTABLISHED A RETIREMENT PROGRAM FOR
QUALIFIED ACTIVE VOLUNTEER MEMBERS OF THE CALVERT COUNTY
VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANIES AND VOLUNTEER RESCUE SQUADS.
FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SUBTITLE, AN ACTIVE VOLUNTEER
MEMBER IS DEFINED AS A PERSON WHO ACCUMULATED A MINIMUM
OF 50 POINTS PER CALENDAR YEAR IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
POINT SYSTEM SET FORTH IN SECTION 175-4.
175-2.
(A) ANY PERSON WHO HAS SERVED AS A MEMBER OF ANY
CALVERT COUNTY VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY OR CALVERT COUNTY
VOLUNTEER RESCUE SQUAD IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE THE
BENEFITS HEREINAFTER SET FORTH, PROVIDED THAT:
