Section 188A (b)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 188A of Article 41 - Governor —
Executive and Administrative Departments, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and
1974 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and
re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
Article 41 — Governor — Executive and Administrative
Departments
188A.
(b) [In such event, the] THE injured prisoner
[has] SHALL HAVE the right to file a claim for
compensation under this subtitle, [[within]] NOT LATER
THAN EITHER [twelve (12) months after his release from
the institution, and not before such release] twelve (12)
months after his release from the institution, OR TWO
YEARS FROM THE DATE OF THE INJURY, WHICHEVER LAST OCCURS.

Claims Board[["]] consists of the Attorney General of
Maryland, or his representative, the Comptroller of the
State, or his representative, and the Secretary of Public
Safety and Correctional Services, or his representative.
The Governor shall designate one of [such] THE members to
be the chairman and another to be the secretary of the
Board.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
