SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
340(a) of Article 41 — Governor—Executive and
Administrative Departments, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

Administrative Departments
340.
(a) The Commission consists of twenty—five members
including a chairman, all to be appointed by the Governor
upon the recommendations of the Secretary of Health and
Mental Hygiene. They shall be selected because of their
experience or interest in physical fitness for both youth
and adults. Members of the Commission shall serve
without compensation except that they may be reimbursed
IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STANDARD TRAVEL REGULATIONS for
necessary travel and other expenses incurred in the
performance of their duties.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
2 of Article 49B — Human Relations Commission, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1972 Replacement Volume and
1974 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and
re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
Article 49B — Human Relations Commission

The members of said Commission except the chairman
shall not receive any compensation for their services but
shall be paid their [reasonably necessary] expenses while
engaged in the discharge of their official duties, IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE STANDARD TRAVEL REGULATIONS.
The Governor shall appoint an executive director and
a deputy director, each of whom shall be paid such
compensation as shall be provided in the budget, and who
shall perform such duties as may be prescribed by said
Commission. In addition, in the absence of the
executive director, the deputy director shall perform all
functions and exercise all authority of the executive
director. The chairman of the Commission shall be paid
such compensation as shall be provided in the budget.
The Commission is authorized to employ its own
attorney, who shall be appointed by the Governor, and who
shall be paid such compensation as shall be provided by
law, and who shall act as general counsel and legal
