AN ACT concerning

Cruelty to Animals

FOR the purpose of mandating that failure to provide
animals with certain care is a misdemeanor;
correcting an error; [[amending the definition of
"animal"]]; specifying a different standard for
certain activities allowing certain officers to take
possession of animals or care for them to protect
them from inhumane treatment; setting out a
procedure for the return of animals taken by
officers if no administrative procedure therefor is
available; and clarifying language.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 59, 62, and 67 of Article 27 -
Crimes and Punishments, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and they
are hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
