Points for Violation

FOR the purpose of imposing a number of driver's license
points to be assessed for passing a school bus which
has alternately flashing red lights[[; and requiring
appearance before an official of a certain court]].

BY repealing and re-enacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 6-402(a) of Article 66 1/2 -
Vehicle Laws, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970
Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

(a) Initial points shall be assessed as follows:

Any moving violation not listed below and not
contributing to an accident..................... 1 point

Speeding in excess of the posted speed limit by 10
miles per hour or more.......................... 2 points

Any moving violation contributing to an accident ...
................................................ 3 points

Speeding in excess of the posted speed limit by 30
miles per hour or more.......................... 5 points

Reckless driving........................... 4 points

Driving without a license or out of classification .
........................................... 5 points
