(House Bill 637)

AN ACT concerning

Handicapped Children — Transportation

FOR the purpose of requiring the Boards of Education of
the counties and Baltimore City to arrange
[[certain]] for the daily or other reasonable
transportation for handicapped children pursuant to
certain rules and regulations promulgated by the
State Superintendent of Schools.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

Article 77 — Public Education

Section 99

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1969 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 99 of Article 77 - Public
Education, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969
Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

Article 77 — Public Education

99.

It shall be the duty of the boards of education of
the several counties and Baltimore City to furnish to
their respective health departments any information they
may receive as to children with mental, physical, and/or
emotional handicaps living within the boundaries of their
school system. The health departments shall recommend
which such children need additional diagnostic or
treatment services and shall refer such children to
